Calcium stearate

(1).Formula:Ca(C17H35COO)2

(2). Properties: calcium stearate is a white or yellowish powder, insoluble in water, soluble in hot ethanol and ether. It can absorb water in the air and decompose into stearic acid and corresponding calcium salt in case of strong acid.

(3). USES: Calcium stearate is used as a non toxic stabilizer in the processing of polyvinyl chloride resins, as a waterproof agent for waterproof and rainproof materials, as a lubricant for paints, as a thickener for lubricating oils and as a lubricant for Pencil leads.
